Linking Your Discord Account

Overview

The Obsidian Servers Discord bot allows you to manage your game servers, view invoices, and create support tickets directly from Discord. To access these features, you must first link your Discord account to your Billing Account using the /settings command.

This guide explains how to complete the account linking process and manage your notification preferences.

How to Link Your Account

Step 1: Start the Linking Process

  1. Type /settings in any Discord channel where the bot is present
  2. Click the Link Account button
  3. A popup will appear asking for your email address

Step 2: Enter Your Email

  1. Enter the email address associated with your Billing Account
  2. Click Submit
  3. A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your email

Step 3: Verify Your Email

  1. Check your inbox for an email from Obsidian Servers
  2. Copy the 6-digit verification code
  3. Click the Enter Code button in Discord
  4. Paste or type the verification code
  5. Click Submit

Your accounts are now linked! You'll see a confirmation message with your account details.

Managing Your Settings

Once linked, the /settings command shows your account status and additional options:

Billing Notifications

  • Toggle DM notifications for upcoming and overdue invoices
  • Click Billing Notifications to enable or disable

Auto-Payment

  • Enable automatic payment for invoices using your stored payment method
  • Click Auto-Payment to configure

Unlinking Your Account

If you need to unlink your Discord from your Billing Account:

  1. Type /settings
  2. Click Unlink Account
  3. Confirm the action

Warning: Unlinking will deactivate all active server shares you have with other users.

Troubleshooting

I didn't receive the verification email

  • Check your spam or junk folder
  • Verify you entered the correct email address
  • Ensure the email matches your Billing Account exactly
  • Wait a few minutes and try again

The verification code isn't working

  • Codes expire after 15 minutes - request a new one if expired
  • Make sure you're entering the code exactly as shown (no extra spaces)
  • Codes are case-sensitive

I'm getting a rate limit error

  • Please try again later

I need to change my linked email

  • Unlink your current account first via /settings
  • Then link again with the correct email
