Node Backups

If enabled, you may also see automated node-level backups:

  • Created automatically by system administrators
  • Available for restoration upon request

Snapshots

Snapshots let you save your entire server state and quickly switch between different setups - perfect for groups who want to jump between different worlds or server types.

What are Snapshots?

Think of snapshots as save slots for your entire server. They capture everything:

  • All server files, worlds, and player data
  • Server configuration and settings
  • Installed mods and plugins

Why Use Snapshots?

Snapshots are ideal when you want to switch between completely different server setups without losing progress. For example:

  • Survival to Modpack and Back - Your group has been playing vanilla survival for months, but everyone wants to try a new modpack. Snapshot your survival world, install the modpack, and play. When you're ready to return to survival, just restore the snapshot - everything is exactly as you left it.
  • Rotating Game Nights - Keep snapshots of different setups (creative build server, minigames, hardcore world) and swap between them for different play sessions.
  • Testing New Content - Want to try a major update or new mods? Snapshot first, experiment freely, then restore if things go wrong.

Creating Snapshots

  1. Navigate to the Snapshots page
  2. Click Create Snapshot
  3. Wait for the snapshot to complete
  4. Your snapshot will appear in the list

Managing Snapshots

Each snapshot displays:

  • Name - Snapshot identifier
  • Size - Total storage used
  • Creation Date - When the snapshot was taken
  • Checksum - Verification hash for integrity

Snapshot Actions

  • Restore - Switch your server back to this exact state
  • Lock/Unlock - Protect important snapshots from accidental deletion
  • Delete - Remove snapshots you no longer need

Snapshot Limits

Your server has a snapshot allocation limit:

  • Monitor your current usage vs. maximum allowed
  • Delete old snapshots or unlock and remove protected ones when needed

Tips

  • Name your snapshots clearly (e.g., "Vanilla Survival - Dec 2024", "ATM9 Playthrough")
  • Lock snapshots for worlds you plan to return to
  • Always snapshot before installing modpacks or making major changes
  • Remember to snapshot your current setup before restoring a different one!

Network & Allocations

Manage your server's network ports and IP allocations.

Understanding Allocations

An allocation is an IP:Port combination assigned to your server. Your server can have multiple allocations for different purposes such as Votifier, Dynmap, etc.

Managing Allocations

  • View Allocations - See all assigned IP:Port combinations
  • Add Allocation - Request additional ports (if available)
  • Set Primary - Choose which allocation is the main connection
  • Add Notes - Label allocations (e.g., "Query Port", "RCON")
  • Delete - Remove unused allocations

Connection Information

For each allocation:

  • IP Address
  • Port Number
  • Whether it's the primary allocation
  • Custom notes/labels

DDoS Protection

Protect your server from DDoS attacks with our integrated protection system powered by TCPShield.

Protection Levels

Basic Protection (Always Active)
All servers include basic DDoS protection by default, providing foundational network-level filtering.

Enhanced Protection (TCPShield)
Enable advanced Layer 7 (L7) protection specifically designed for Minecraft Java Servers:

  • Bot attack filtering
  • Invalid packet blocking
  • Protocol exploit prevention
  • Minecraft-specific attack mitigation

Enabling Enhanced Protection

  1. Navigate to DDoS Protection
  2. Click Enable Protection
  3. Choose a subdomain option:
    • Use an existing subdomain
    • Create a new subdomain
  4. Restart your server to activate

Protected Connection

Once enabled:

  • Share your protected subdomain with players (e.g., myserver.obby.host)
  • Traffic routes through TCPShield's protection network
  • Your server's real IP remains hidden

Custom Domains

Add your own domains for professional branding with full DDoS protection.

Adding a Custom Domain

  1. Go to the Custom Domains tab
  2. Enter your domain name
  3. Select which server to route to
  4. Enable/disable Backend Address Concealment (BAC)

Domain Verification

After adding a domain:

  1. Add the required DNS records to your domain registrar
  2. Click Verify Domain to confirm ownership
  3. Once verified, traffic will route through protection

DNS Configuration

You'll need to add:

  • CNAME Record - Points your domain to TCPShield
  • Specific records will be shown after adding your domain

Domain Settings

  • Backend Address Concealment (BAC) - Hide your server's real IP
  • Server Routing - Change which server the domain points to

Bedrock Tunnels

For Minecraft Bedrock Edition servers, request a Bedrock tunnel to enable protected access for Bedrock players.

Requesting a Tunnel

  1. Go to the Bedrock Tunnels tab
  2. Click Request Tunnel
  3. Wait for approval (may take some time)

Tunnel Status

  • Pending - Request submitted, awaiting approval
  • Active - Tunnel is live and ready to use
  • Cancelled - Request was cancelled

Using Bedrock Tunnels

Once active:

  • Players connect using the provided Bedrock-compatible address
  • Full DDoS protection for Bedrock connections
  • Works alongside Java Edition protection

Supported Server Software

DDoS Protection works with:

  • Paper/Spigot servers
  • BungeeCord / Waterfall proxies
  • Velocity proxies

Modded servers and other server software is not supported.
