Port Allocation for Minecraft Servers

Overview

By default, each Obsidian Servers customer receives 5 ports allocated to their Minecraft hosting package:

  • 1 primary port for your Minecraft server
  • 4 additional ports for RCON, plugins, or mod packs that require separate port access

Current Port Usage

Your default port allocation is designed to accommodate standard Minecraft server setups, including:

  • Main Minecraft server connection
  • RCON (Remote Console) access
  • Common plugins and mod packs with networking requirements

Create Extra Allocations

In order to allocate additional select the server on the Panel and follow these steps:

  1. Using the side menu select "Network" tab under the "Management" section
  2. Select the "Create Allocation" button and an additional port will be allocated to you to use

Remove Allocations

In the network tab where you create allocations, you will see a table of all the created allocations.

Each row has a red trash bin button except for the primary port. The primary port is the port which the Minecraft Server will use to allow player connections.

If you wish to change the primary port to a different port you can use the "Make Primary" button

Warning: We cannot guarantee recovery of any deleted ports
